Jim Powers lives in Bloomington, Indiana and has been keeping fish off and on since he was a child. For the last ten years, Jim has been concentrating on loaches and has kept over 30 species including botiid, brook, hillstream and various miscellaneous species. He has had three species of hillstreams spawn and co-authored an article on the subject that was published in FAMA. Jim also contributed to the book "Loaches: Natural History and Aquarium Care" published by TFH. This book was written by several individuals who met on the Loaches Online web site which Jim helps moderate. In addition to loaches Jim keeps a few danio species,chela, white clouds, garra, rainbows, catfish and shrimp.

His presentation will cover loaches of the families botiidae and balitoridae (hillstream).
