    Corydoras pygmaeus Eggs

Yesterday morning I was surprised by 5 C. pygmaeus eggs on the sides of the tank. It's been a couple of years since I've had baby cats, so this is pretty exciting for me. I've never had great success raising corycat fry, but I should get some survivors. I think I need a new microworm culture, because my last one didn't take. Anybody close-ish to Sharonville have a starter culture? I'll try to get some pics posted of the eggs. This is from a group of 12 I bought back in early November and they are in RO water.

Eggs on the glass circled in red. I saw one wiggling on the bottom of the tank this morning!

Very cool. Still waiting on mine to spawn. Maybe I need more?

This is what "being in a fish club" is all about. Good work Bruce.
Rob - if you do get some microworms from Bruce, they'll essentially be your own worms "coming back home." Back in 2006 you were kind enough to give me a start of worms. I kept my stock going for several years, and had given away starter cultures to several folks in the club - one of which was Tony - "Doggydaddy". Well - I let my microworms die out, and Tony was nice enough to restock me with another starter culture... several years later... that's where Bruce got his...

What goes around, comes around... Good Karma.

    Thanks!

Tony - How many do you have?
Bruce - I'll take you up on that if I can't find it closer.
Eric - Those actually originated from John Sipes, so the wheels on the bus go round and round!

I have 4. Not sure if it's 3m and 1f, or 2 pr. I found them at Monfort about 3 months ago and bought what they had left. They are in a 10 gal. tank with floating Hornwort and potted Water Sprite and Dwarf Amazon Swords. There are also about 10 Rili Shrimp in there as well.

I hope you find out soon, because mine are telling me that breeding season is upon us. A believe that all 5 of my eggs hatched, but I can't find the fry anywhere in the 5.5G tank. There is 1 RCS in there. This morning I woke up to 5 new eggs, so I'm going to try tranferring them to a 2.5G tank today.

I transferred the eggs yesterday morning and then they laid 10 more by evening time! I moved those eggs too and saw a hatched one wiggling in the breeding tank.

Of the 1st 5 in the breeding tank, I've seen 2 swimming around today. Of the ~25 I moved to the 2.5, I saw 5 hatched this morning. I saw 1 hatch out of it's egg casing late last night and removed 1 fungused egg. Last night I filled the 2.5 up w/ RO water and added Kent's Black Water Extract and a sponge filter. Endlerman hooked me up with a thriving microworm culture. Thank you, Endlerman! Just in time!
