    Dwarf puffers

    Do dwarf puffers eat snails? Are they truely freshwater?

    Yes, great at eating snails from what i have read.

    Fresh but brakish.(spelling)

    I have heard that there is one variety that will not eat snails, but I have no clue how to distinguish that particular species from the others. Hopefully someone else knows the difference.

    I have a couple of SA freshwater puffers (C. Aselus SP?) that I transfer from tank to tank to reduce snail populations. Keeps them fat and happy and also snail populations to a minimum.
    BTW they seem happy in freshwater with only a little salt added at waterchages.
